Administrative Departments
The administrative structures that ensure the proper functioning of the Vasile Goldiș Western University of Arad—from assets and finance to IT and data protection.
UVVG’s administrative activities are organized into specialized directorates and departments that support the university’s academic mission. Each structure has clear responsibilities, dedicated staff, and direct contact points for students, faculty, and institutional partners.
The General Administrative Directorate’s general objective is to achieve a balance where the current operational, development, and modernization needs of activities specific to the administrative, educational, and research fields are met at the highest possible level.
It efficiently manages and administers the university’s entire patrimony — land, buildings with educational spaces, research and practice facilities, as well as spaces with other designations.
Specific Objectives
– Carrying out procurement activities for investment objectives, repair/service works, and providing the necessary equipment for the proper functioning of all faculties and departments;
– Monitoring the execution of all repair, modernization, and investment works in accordance with approved projects and budgetary provisions;
– Ensuring the maintenance of buildings within the university’s patrimony; – Ensuring the security of objectives, goods, valuables, and the protection of individuals;
– Developing and endorsing regulatory procedures and norms for activities within the directorate’s scope.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTORATE

The Human Resources Department manages the entire professional lifecycle of university staff — from recruitment and selection to the administration of employment contracts, personnel records, and the application of labor legislation within the academic environment. It coordinates the organization of competitions for teaching and non-teaching positions, in compliance with internal procedures and national regulations in force.

Through the Financial and Accounting Directorate, UVVG organizes and manages its own accounting—financial accounting and management accounting—as well as internal financial control activities, in accordance with the document flow and internal decision-making process for defining the limits of competence.
The Directorate reports directly to the University’s Board of Directors and ensures the measurement, evaluation, management, and control of assets, liabilities, and equity, providing information on the execution of the revenue and expenditure budget and the annual execution account.

The Legal Department ensures the defense of the university’s legitimate rights and interests in its relations with other natural or legal persons — whether public or private law — in accordance with current legislation, regulations, and UVVG’s own administrative acts.
The professional relationship between the legal counsel and the university is based on honesty, probity, fairness, confidentiality, and the independence of professional opinions. In exercising their duties, the legal counsel adheres to the Constitution of Romania, current laws, and the professional code of ethics — independently of any external pressure.

UVVG provides students and faculty with access to various accreditation, testing, and training methods for their professional development and advancement. Faculty secretariats are the first point of contact for documents, certificates, academic records, and other official paperwork.
The IT Department ensures extensive, accessible, and efficient access to ICT facilities and services for all UVVG users—students, faculty, administrative staff, and academic management. It monitors the functionality of existing software systems and builds a coherent, modular, and high-performance digital architecture at the university level.
Main Objectives
Implementation of the ICT infrastructure development strategy that supports academic and research performance
Implementation of an integrated information system for managing the educational process
Ensuring high-performance communications and reliable access to Internet services for the entire UVVG community
Management of systems: UMS, admission platform, online course and examination platforms, online schedules
Coordination of periodic reporting: ANS, PCUe, data requested by MEC, INS, and other authorities
Development and management of automation systems in collaboration with relevant departments
